Gresham turned a commercial building fire disaster to an advantage, with a rebuilding scheme that added 60% more building volume to the same site at one-third less cost than duplicating the original.

ODU Brock Commons

served as the general contractor for this performing area in the new Old Dominion Arts District at the corner of Monarch Way and 47th Street. Included in the project was a covered performing stage, a new 167’ long pedestrian bridge connecting students from 49th to 47th street, a ‘water wall’ with precast basin, as well as associated landscaping.
