“Gresham turned a commercial building fire disaster to an advantage, with a rebuilding scheme that added 60% more building volume to the same site at one-third less cost than duplicating the original.”
Great Bridge Battlefield and Waterway Park
E.T. GRESHAM COMPANY was the contractor for Phase 1 of the Great Bridge Battlefield and Waterway Park, whose mission is to provide a place to learn about the Battle of Great Bridge, which took place December 9th, 1775. As a result of this victory, Virginia “adopted the first public declaration expressing a spirit of independence.”
E.T. Gresham’s role, in phase 1, was to build a park which includes an outdoor theater, an interpretive historic pathway and re-creation of the causeway as well as provide a roadway with site utilities to support future expansion.
